More Geraldton Suburbs Connect to the NBN

Technology is an integral part of the world we live in today. In fact, we are always seeking for the latest and greatest gadgets and the speed in which they operate. For those who live or are looking to live in Geraldton’s multiple suburbs, there is good news on the way. It has been announced recently that three more suburbs in Geraldton, namely Narngulu, Utakarra and Rangeway, will become connected to the National Broadband Network, or NBN. This will increase the Internet speed of devices connected to it, as well as allow for greater flow of information.

Geraldton Suburbs Connect to the NBN

The NBN is a major endeavour that is taking place all around the country, bringing higher speeds of connectivity and more information sharing wherever it plugs into. There are different types of connections that it brings depending on how it does so.

While satellite feeds and various models of architecture exist and are popular in certain areas, the kind that is coming primarily to Geraldton’s suburbs is fibre to the premises, or FTTP. Throughout the country, approximately 22 per cent of the population will be connected in this way through different layouts of wiring and wireless apparatuses.

Plugging in

The National Broadband Network connecting to more of the Geraldton area is a very welcome addition to the community, not only because of the many locals that will have greater speeds, but also in how it will impact the whole community.

The Square Kilometre Array, a major technological construction taking place in the Geraldton area, will greatly benefit from the influx of the NBN because it will increase processing speed for maximum functionality. Bluff Point, Beresford, Spalding, Webberton and Strathalbyn are the next targets on the map, with hopefully more suburbs and residential neighbourhoods soon to be connected as well.

The Next Level

The National Broadband Network sprawls across the nation and increases higher Internet speeds with increased connectivity. More of Geraldton’s suburbs are being brought into this system, which will surely take all devices connected to the next level. The Square Kilometre Array and many new neighbourhoods are on the map to receive the boost next with hopefully more on the horizon.
